Ruckersville, Virginia and Washington, DC
Ruckersville, Virginia
Our last several days of driving were long and scenic. As we approached the Appalachian Mountains, the fall colors became more vibrant and the beautiful farms and horse pastures that lined the highway were just beautiful.
We spent the night after St. Louis in a beautiful rural campground in Kentucky. We enjoyed a stunning sunset behind a field with trees painted in fall colors just outside our camper door.
We continued our drive the next day to my in-laws house just outside Charlottesville, VA. Here we spent several rest-filled days with them to recover from our long journey before making our way to our final destination! We visited a local farm for their fall festival and enjoyed the crisp fall evenings in Virginia.
Charlottesville has much to offer, which I will cover in detail at another time, but this visit was just meant for relaxation!
Washington, DC
Welcome home! After 2 long weeks of travel across the country, many incredible sights, and a few exhausted kiddos, we made it to our new home. Right away, we marched ourselves right up the steps of the United States Capitol Building to announce our arrival!
As we enjoyed the view from the steps of the Capitol down the mall all the way to the Lincoln Memorial, we couldn’t help but be grateful for all our country has to offer and all it has accomplished. We have a rich history in the United States of America, and we are so thankful that we got to see just a small portion of it on this amazing journey across the country. We were also so excited to explore all that our Capitol city had to offer!
